The Busch Light BOB & TOM Comedy All-Stars Tour presents a rotating ensemble of these great headline comedians to stages all across America. Hosted by radio legend Chick McGee. November 27 ♦ The Oak Ridge Boys Christmas Show
It’s like two shows in one as The Oak Ridge Boys kick off this big show with their world famous four-part harmonies and string of hits that spans three decades. Toes will be a tappin’ to smash hits “Elvira” and “Bobbie Sue” plus many more award-winning songs. Then, after a short intermission, the stage is transformed and it’s Christmas! The trees are decorated, the snow is falling and The Oak Ridge Boys treat you to Christmas favorites as only they can. From rollicking Santa songs to heartfelt standards, this limited tour is a family favorite for kicking off the holiday season!
November 30 ♦ Dowling Catholic High School Christmas Concert
This locally produced concert includes sacred and secular Christmas music performed by the Jazz Choir, Mixed Chorus, Chamber Choir, and A Cappella Choir. A special portion of the concert will include a selection that features the senior members of the choral program. The choral division of the Dowling Performing Arts Department consists of 240 students in grades 9-12. Admission is free and the show is open to the public.

The Nadas invite you to a night of festive merriment and holiday cheer, benefiting the U.S. Marine Corps Toys For Tots. The Nadas ask that attendees bring unopened toys for Central Iowa children. In addition to the toy drive, a silent auction will also be held to raise money for a local charity.

Ballet Des Moines is proud to present the family classic you loved as a child with the professional ballet you appreciate as an adult. The jewel-box beauty of the Hoyt Sherman Place Theater will again be the home for Ballet Des Moines’ presentation of The Nutcracker. Hoyt Sherman and his family lived in their Des Moines home during the time of The Nutcracker’s premier from St. Petersburg, Russia in 1892. This version reflects Sherman’s era and his home. You’ll feel as if you stepped back in time as you and your family enjoy this holiday classic steeped in the beauty of the Victorian era.

Although they are simply four voices and a tambourine, Tonic Sol-fa has spent the past decade on the road carving their niche as the nation’s top vocal group. This quartet has been named one of the top five “must see” groups in America and has appeared on NBC’s Today Show and in the pages of Newsweek magazine. Don’t miss this Hoyt Sherman Place fan favorite!
In addition to the great shows, Hoyt Sherman Place invites you to visit the mansion and art galleries to experience a winter wonderland. With several themed trees, and other beautifully decorated spaces, they promise spending time in this display of holiday cheer will help you celebrate the season. All of the decorations, and the hours it took to position every piece in just the right place, were provided by the Des Moines Women’s Club.
