The wine program at Des Moines Restaurant Cafe di Scala is unique in that it is the only 100% Italian wine list in Iowa. Guests will find familiar, traditional grapes,
but might also explore more up-and-coming varietals like Montepuliciano from Abruzzo. Unusual finds such as Lagrein from Trentino, Negroamaro from Apulia and Gaglioppo from Calabria also make an appearance. Both Wine Enthusiast and Wine Spectator have each recognized Scala’s Wine Lists with wine designation awards.
“Scala Sips,” our version of wine flights, are available so guests may sample wines from a particular region.
